yupps. enough bout the good things of the trip. now here s the bad.
i think its also because i m biased, cause i have almost always only take SQ flights. meaning Singapore Airlines. but i HAVE taken China Air, Thai Air before. But i have to say this. Cathay Pacific is really unexpected. who eva said that cathay is comparable to sq must be lying. i m serious. let me prove my stand.
Firstly, they are ve uncoordinated. there was this family of three with a little boy who wanted to change to window seats i suppose. but its common sense that you dont change seats after the flight takes off and the head count has been done. (changin of seats if the flight is not full larr).
but apparently, one air stewardess helped the family change seats before everything was settled. then after tt, they kena scolding by another guy air steward. then they had to shift back. i really pity them larr..
Next, it was the bun thingy. cause if you didnt know, i love bread, buns and dough. (like donuts..haha) so as usual, i asked for another bun from the inflight food. (as in when i m on sq). guess what the air stewardess said? "i ll give the rest out to the back first. if there are any extras i ll come back to you." wow..what great service. and she didnt even come back. no follow up at all. at least come back to say that she doesnt have anymore larr....
And another thing, is the inflight entertainment. firstly, i have to state again that i am spoilt by SQ. coz SQ spoils people by their huge array of movie collections. they not only show the newest movies that includes movies that are out in US but only coming soon in singapore, they also have classic oldies that cant be found in normal vcd shop and ppl like me appreciate so much. when i mean oldies, i mean they also had charlie chaplin once..and of course the classics like the good old batman movies, titanic, and of course my fave disney classics. and not forgetting, their movies include movies frm all countries. then we have the dramas. they range from the good old friends and steinfield to the new lost, csi and prison break. and they have a few cartoon channels if i m not wrong. besides the movies that SQ allow their passengers to immerse themselve into, ppl who are bored of just watchin the screen can alwaysa exercise their fingers and brains with the number of to die games that SQ krisflyer has. i think they have over 50 games includin my fav super mario..haha..i admit i m not very into games. but just super mario alone has 3 diff types. and let me assure you that SQ games are not the cheapo games, but there are quite a number of ninetendo games.. now that i have said so much bout SQ, let me describe Cathay's inflight enertainment to you. clearly, there are very neat and tidy. because their movies are so clearly categorised. they have shows that are watched when you are goin to hongkong and comin from hongkong. then in the to and fro sections, it is again splited into 2. the sort haul and the long haul. and hera's what. the movies are only allowed in the long haul. then for flights like mine, goin frm spore to bangkok being a short haul flight can only make do with short variety show. and to make things worse, they only have 5 games. let me name one. hangman. ha! nd me cont? i didnt even bother trying to play any of the games. i survived the plane ride eating as slowly as possible and watchin the 2 disney cartoons that provided. Oh yar, and on the flight home, the entertainment system died on me. as in, when we changed the channel, there was nothing screenin. thankfully, daddy didnt change his channel, so i ended watchin his. yes, in the end, mine came back on, but by that time, it was only minutes before they took back the headsets. oh yes!! in SQ, they screen the movies till the plane touch down. so you still get to finish those movies that are ending without the sound, since they still have subtitles anw. but sadly cathey takes away the entertainment system lyk 15min before they go into landin gear.
Last but not least, then end of the ride was the worst. you know the flight attendent would normally great the passengers at the start and the end of the flight? in SQ they would tell us who they are and their position and stuff..and they would sound very polite and sweet and of course in good language without any stuttering. ha! Cathay never introduced themselves to us, even the captain or first officer or whoever that was talkin to us in the middle of the flight about the landing didnt tell us who he was. fine, you may say names are not important. but the last part of the flight. when we touched down in spore. i quote i repeat, i quote the air stewardess. she said "welcome to HONGKONG" !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! wadeeeeeeeeeee horrible!!!!!!!!! then of course the quickly apologised and said welcome to singpore. but still.............arghhhhhhhh..welcome to hongkong......................eeeeeeeeeee
ppl, if you can, please do not take cathay unless you want a horrible experience. if you can, please fly only with Singapore Airlines.
